MS Paint Tutorial
From the people that brought you LOTR Animated Dubbed comes a great tutorial for MS Paint. This engaging software can produce amazing results that can take less time than other solutions like Adobe Photoshop, or Gimp. Definitely a great watch.
ATI Puts X-Plane on 24 LCD Monitors with Ubuntu Linux
AMD issued a press release where they had the unveiling of their ATI Eyefinity multi-display technology. This technology, to be found on their next-generation R800 series hardware, allow "up to 12 times 1080p high-definition resolution, which approaches eye-definition optical clarity." Well, what does that mean? Just watch the video below. You may have seen other AMD Eyefinity demos come out today, but the recording below is a Linux-based demo.
These 24 displays (each 1920 x 1200 panels) were powered by four Radeon HD 5800 series GPUs with Ubuntu Linux 9.04 using a pre-production Catalyst driver for Linux. Each of these ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics cards has support for up to six DisplayPort connections. This video is to serve as a technology demo and this Eyefinity support will in fact not appear within AMD's Catalyst Linux driver for some months. In this recording, the X-Plane 9 flight simulator is being featured.
LOTR Animated Dubbed Over
LOTR Animated is funny to watch to begin with, but a couple of guys took the movie and dubbed over them. I have watched half of their work and it is hilarious. That was back in December 2008. They have started back up and are almost complete dubbing over Part 1. The sad news is that they never made Part 2 of the animated movies, so they are going to have to figure out an ending for the first part. Once completed, they will release a DVD through torrents. As of now, most of the videos are available to watch on youtube.com and range from Part 1, to Part 28. Go watch.

Braid
Braid is a side-scrolling platformer similar to Mario Bros. I purchased it for the Xbox 360 a while back, and this game is positively amazing. Beautiful graphics and soundtrack. Each world features a totally different gameplay type that has to do with time. It is impossible to die as you can rewind and fast forward through time. I highly recommend this game to anyone and it is available on Steam for $5! It's usually $15, but is on sale at the moment. Hurry and get it.
Pulch: The Good Times
Here is a classic video about happiness. Worth the watch.
Windows 7 vs. Linux
"Microsoft is apparently teaching Best Buy employees that Windows 7 beats Linux in every category imaginable. Redmond isn't just saying that Windows has more software or games available than Linux does or that Windows has compatibility with more devices and hardware than Linux does. The software giant is actually going as far as teaching employees that there are certain statements about Linux that need to be labeled as myths."
When I read that statement, I definitely thought it would be worth the read. The images from the Windows teaching are very, very incorrect. It just goes to show that Microsoft either doesn't know what they are talking about, or they are expecting that every Best Buy employee is stupid. Which from different news interviews, that seems to be the case.
Here is the link with the slide show that is very wrong. There are points in there that are kind of correct, but not 100% right. I will admit that Linux does have its flaws and is not the solution for everybody, but once you get used to it, Linux is definitely the best choice for an OS.

2D Blender Cartoons
Blender is usually used to edit videos, model a mesh, or animate a 3D object. Recently, it has been used to make cartoons. Informative yet humorous at the same time. One on obesity, and the other on the intake of alcohol.
Blender Live Rendering
Blender is a free, open-source 3D editor. Version 2.5 is currently in the works and there are a ton of new features coming out. Here is a test done with a webcam. Blender inputs the video feed and renders a model in real-time. Very impressive.
TF2 Cheater’s Lament
So sadly, it is not a hat picked from random. They made a totally new hat that is able to be equipped on any class. But it's better than nothing.

TF2 Hats Update
Ever since hats came out, I wanted one. Just because you feel like you have edge over the others. The only problem is that each hour there is about 0.25% chance to earn one each hour. The chance is cycled. In other words, you have to be playing at the exact time to be able to get a hat. I'm around 86.5 hours. Which at 100 hours you have a 90% chance to owning one of the rare hats. After getting 7 of each item, its getting rather frustrating that I haven't yet earned a hat. But there is hope. As posted yesterday on the TF2 blog:
"Meanwhile, everyone who took the moral high road will soon be finding a new hat in their inventory. We've also significantly increased the chance of finding any of the existing hats."
So maybe I will get one soon. I just hope that its one that I actually want. (Soldier's Brigade Helm) It would go perfectly with the Soldier's Gentle Manne's Service Medal.
